Nordkalottleden
Nordkalottleden is one of the more remote long-distance trails in Europe, offering a sense of isolation and tranquility that’s hard to find on more crowded routes. You'll often find yourself far from civilization, with only the sounds of nature as your companion. In some sections, you might see Sami settlements or signs of reindeer migration. The landscape is incredibly diverse, ranging from high mountains and alpine plateaus to lush valleys, rivers, and lakes. You will walk through national parks and nature reserves.
There are fewer towns and villages along the route, requiring a good degree of self-reliance. The trail itself is not difficult or technical.
